The tag-team fighting game space is getting a bit crowded these days, as both Invincible Vs. and Marvel Tokon: Fighting Heroes were announced in June for release in 2026. Riot Games, meanwhile, has been working on a tag fighter of its own in 2XKO, and today the team has a new update for its League of Legends fighting game: A closed beta test is set to begin in September, and it will include a new roster member in Vi, the star of Arcane: A League Of Legends Story.
The 2XKO closed beta will begin September 9 on PC, with Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 versions to follow “at a later date.” The beta will feature cross-progression, however, which will allow players who prefer consoles to transfer their progress to the console of their choice with “no lapse in progress or inventory.”

The closed beta will also introduce Vi–the fiery pugilist LoL champion and star of the Netflix series Arcane: A League of Legends Story–as the eighth member of the playable roster. Vi will also be included in a new playable demo build at Evo 2025, which is set for August 1-3 in Las Vegas.
Riot has confirmed that those who participated in either Alpha Lab session previously will be entered into the PC closed beta automatically, but those who wish to sign up can do so at the game’s official website. The company also announced that once the servers go live on the closed beta in September, they will remain live all the way up until the game’s launch.
2XKO will be available for PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5 at launch, though an official release date has not yet been announced.
