Are you scratching your head when it comes to the Child in the Jar in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers? This particular NPC has an odd appearance. They also don’t speak, but they do have a few rewards for you. Our guide has all the details, but take note that there are some minor spoilers.
All Child in the Jar rewards in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers – Child in the Jar quest guide
You encounter the Child in the Jar throughout the course of the campaign. This NPC appears in several locations, and you have to give them an item. The items themselves aren’t marked as their belongings, unlike what you normally see when checking the descriptions for Wu Gang’s and Tao Qing’s valuables.
Note that the Child in the Jar–i.e. they’re wearing a jar helmet–might be a reference to Let Me Solo Her, a popular streamer who helped out countless players defeat Malenia in Elden Ring.
Child in the Jar: Location and item #1
- Item location: The first item that you need is the Dough Figurine of Mu Guiying. It’s at the yard near the Worship’s Rise – Lightzen Temple fast travel point.
- Child in the Jar location: Your first meeting with the Wuchang: Fallen Feathers Child in the Jar NPC happens after you’ve beaten the boss in Lightzen Temple. Once you’ve crossed the Narrow Stretch, you’ll encounter Nian Suichang, who gives you a Bone Whistle that can summon companions. There’s an abandoned house near this area and, if you look inside, you’ll find the Child in the Jar.
- Reward: Draw Circle emote
Child in the Jar: Location and item #2
- Item location: Continue onward until you reach Mt. Zhenwu – Battlefield Pass. Eventually, you’ll find yourself in an abandoned village that’s crawling with feathered monsters and zombies. One of the elites here drops a Bloodied Bunny Steam Bun item.
- Child in the Jar location: Progress further past the abandoned village and you’ll arrive at Mt. Zhenwu – Refugee Camp. This is the new hub for various NPCs, including the Child in the Jar.
Child in the Jar: Location and item #3
- Item location: The Child in the Jar will move to a nearby location. You’ll find a Tattered Paper in the kid’s previous spot in the Refugee Camp. Note that you don’t actually give this item to the NPC, but it’s a quest item so it’s worth keeping in mind.
- Child in the Jar location: The Child in the Jar moves to the opposite cliffside area at the Refugee Camp. This section can be accessed once you’ve defeated the boss in the Avian Dwelling zone.
Should you tell the Child in the Jar about the boat waiting at the dock?
There will be a pivotal moment if you’re doing the Wuchang: Fallen Feathers Child in the Jar quest chain. Here’s a quick summary:
- Near Magalhaes’ position in the Refugee Camp, you should overhear people talking about a boat at the dock.
- Walk over to the tent and exhaust all dialogue options.
- Then, go to the Child in the Jar and talk to them. There are two responses to choose from:
- Tell of the boat waiting at the dock.
- Keep quiet about the boat at the dock.
In our playthrough, we told the kid regarding the boat and we received 3x Full-Grown Red Mercury. Unfortunately, we’re unable to check as to what happens if you keep mum about the information.
How to get the Ceramic Jar helmet
Finally, it’s time to check out the dockyards:
- To do this, you must venture deeper into the cave just past Mt. Zhenwu – Zhenwu Altar.
- Do not accept the NPC’s proposal just yet. Just go through the cave normally for now.
- Note that this is also the path that eventually leads you to Bai Mansion.
In any case, you should find yourself at the Ferry Overlook once you exit the caverns. Go to the edge of the pier straight ahead to find the Ceramic Jar. Yes, it’s a jar helmet and it has pitiful stats. Still, if you want to look like Let Me Solo Her while laying waste to vicious bosses, then this is probably the armor piece that you want to wear.
That does it for our Wuchang: Fallen Feathers Child in the Jar guide. If you’re searching for other goodies, you can read our Wu Gang items guide.
