Anyone who played The Outer Worlds knows that the game’s companions were part of what made adventuring in its world so special, offering far more than just powerful assistance in battle. They were the heart of the experience, as is so often the case in an RPG of this sort. So, it stands to reason that the same will go for the companions in the upcoming sequel The Outer Worlds 2.
The Outer Worlds 2 offers six companions to choose from, each with their own unique set of skills, and, presumably, their own hopes and dreams we can’t wait to help them fulfill. While we don’t know everything about them quite yet, we’ve compiled a quick look at each companion, thanks to the game’s companions trailer, and what they seem to bring to the table when The Outer Worlds 2 lands on October 29.
Niles
Faction: Earth Directorate
Niles appears to be able to cloak himself for some strategic flanking with his sidearm, and he’ll most likely have some engineering skills to offer you.
Valerie
Faction: Earth Directorate
Valerie is an adorable robot who seems to be focused on buffing your party and disabling the tech of your foes, though it’s clear that she’ll be able to dish out some ranged damage, too.
Aza
Faction: The Glorious Dawn
Aza looks to be a rogue archetype with a penchant for stabbing with daggers and using a close-range, arm-mounted weapon of some sort.
Tristan
Faction: Protectorate
Tristan wields a huge hammer that looks capable of beating the snot out of anyone who looks at him the wrong way, so he’s all but certain to be a fantastic choice for those looking for a melee companion.
Inez
Faction: Auntie’s Choice
Inez appears to be the long-range expert of the group, using a rifle and a skill that sends bugs toward enemies stinger-first.
Marisol
Faction: Order of the Ascendant
Marisol is set to be a stealthy, high-damage dealer who comes with some bizarre ability she fires from her chest that seems to disorient enemies.
