Are you looking for all the Panda Bamboo Shoots in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers? This whole concept involves a cutesy cuddly NPC vendor and a bunch of tiny critters that you need to chase down. Of course, your efforts should pay off, as you’re bound to receive rewards, too. In any case, please take note that this article does contain minor spoilers.
Where to find all Bamboo Shoots in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers – Panda Bamboo Shoots guide
Bamboo Shoots are small critters that emerge from the ground and run away as soon as you get close enough. If you can’t take them out quickly, they’ll burrow and hide. You can only make them respawn if you rest at a nearby Shrine. Since there are over a dozen Bamboo Shoots in the game, we’ve organized our guide based on each region/zone.
Giant Panda locations and item rewards
The Wuchang: Fallen Feathers Panda NPC tends to change locations depending on how far you’ve progressed into the campaign. Here are some examples that we’re able to share:
- Worship’s Rise: Shu Sanctum – Keep going straight ahead from the river/junction where you meet Nian Suichang. Eventually, you’ll see a Bamboo Shoot that disappears near a cave entrance. The Panda NPC is inside the cave, along with another NPC known as the Storyteller.
- Cloudspire: Snowfall Palace – Head to the upper section of the palace complex. The Panda is in the large chamber with treasures.
- Mt. Zhenwu: Zhenwu Altar – Go past the altar and keep left as you follow the sloping path. Note that you might see a cave and an NPC. Don’t go inside the cave and definitely don’t accept the other NPC’s proposal to proceed further.
Also, here are the items that you can purchase from the Panda in exchange for Bamboo Shoots:
- Weapon: Steampowered Spear – Costs 1x Bamboo Shoot.
- Consumable: Feather Pearl – Costs 1x Bamboo Shoot.
- Spell: Divine Ward – Costs 3x Bamboo Shoot.
- Benediction: Wei – Nine-Disciplinary Force – Costs 5x Bamboo Shoot.
- Armor: Panda Hood – Costs 5x Bamboo Shoot.
- Material: Lustrous Red Feather – Costs 1x Bamboo Shoot.
The Panda gains more wares for its inventory as you progress through the campaign. So, just keep playing and meeting up with it until you see all the available goodies in its shop.
Worship’s Rise Bamboo Shoot #1
Location: Lightzen Temple – This will likely be the first Wuchang: Fallen Feathers Bamboo Shoot critter that you encounter. After beating the Man-Eating Dhutanga, open the door that leads outside. As you turn right, you should see this fella emerge from the ground.
Worship’s Rise Bamboo Shoot #2
Location: Shu Sanctum – As mentioned earlier, you have to keep going straight ahead from where you met Nian Suichang. This creature will disappear once it’s near the cave entrance.
Worship’s Rise Bamboo Shoot #3
Location: Shu Sanctum – That cave, of course, is where you’ll first meet the Panda NPC. Before you leave, though, make sure to talk to the Storyteller. After exhausting all dialogue options, he’ll give you a Bamboo Shoot.
Worship’s Rise Bamboo Shoot #4
Location: Shu Sanctum – You can find this item just past the fire-breathing demon in the village yard. Go through the barn to your left and you should see this thing emerge at the garden.
Worship’s Rise Bamboo Shoot #5
Location: Mercury Workshop – Trying to get this Wuchang: Fallen Feathers Bamboo Shoot can be a bit of a doozy. Basically, you have to go one level lower from the fast travel point in this area. Then, you must enter a corridor and climb a ladder that leads further up. This lets you traverse the red vine-like tendrils in the center, which also leads you to this creature.
Worship’s Rise Bamboo Shoot #6
Location: Doomwillow Beach – Progress through this level normally until you meet the Red-Clad Lady. Then, follow the sloping path downward and turn right. This fella should run away and disappear once it reaches a pool of blood at the end of the pathway.
Worship’s Rise Bamboo Shoot #7
Location: Tang Palace/Palace Hill – This tiny plant appears along the left-hand side just past the Shrine in this area. If you can’t catch it in time, you can just rest to make it respawn.
Cloudspire Bamboo Shoot #1
Location: Rebel Camp – We obtained this Wuchang: Fallen Feathers Bamboo Shoot after some shenanigans. We went through the cave to the right of the Snowy Passage, and then we rode the elevator to the Rebel Camp. Once we got there, the Bamboo Shoot immediately ran away, but it was blown to smithereens by cannons. We still got the resource.
Cloudspire Bamboo Shoot #2
Location: Rebel Camp/Cloudspire Outskirts – This Bamboo Shoot is smack dab in the middle of town next to a pyre that keeps spawning undead. Note that enemies will blast you with cannons, so you might want to take them out first before chasing this thing.
Cloudspire Bamboo Shoot #3
Location: Snowfall Palace – Found in an alleyway to the left of the main steps that lead to the interior. Since this fella spawns fairly close to a Shrine, you can just rest if you’re unable to catch it in time.
Cloudspire Bamboo Shoot #4
Location: Shaft Entrance – From the fast travel point, you should see a tunnel with pendulum traps. Look for a ledge off to the side and drop down. Follow it as it loops around the lower section of this level. Eventually, you’ll stumble upon this Bamboo Shoot. Note that you can find a Wu Gang item and a Manna Vase upgrade nearby.
Cloudspire Bamboo Shoot #5
Location: Bride’s Boudoir – You need to be careful if you want to obtain this Panda Bamboo Shoot in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers. Here’s a quick summary:
- From the Bride’s Boudoir Shrine, go through the corridors and cells until you reach the central area.
- There’s a bridge here with a letter/note. Do not go to the middle of the bridge.
- Instead, talk to the Storyteller first. You should see him at the right-hand side. He’ll give you another Bamboo Shoot.
To be clear, the bridge in this area will collapse if you walk to the middle. This leads to a boss fight, and the Storyteller might disappear by the time you get back.
Mt. Zhenwu Bamboo Shoot #1
Location: Avian Dwelling – After going through the underground caverns with the Despair-causing enemies, you’ll find yourself in the upper section of this zone. There’s a giant tree trunk that forms a bridge to the opposite side of the chasm–i.e. the one that leads to the Tomb. The Bamboo Shoot spawns just as you’re crossing the bridge.
Mt. Zhenwu Bamboo Shoot #2
Location: Pavilion of Knowledge – You’ll meet the Storyteller in this chamber. Talk to him to obtain another one of these materials.
