Demos, DLC, and shadow drops are available on Switch right now

Another Nintendo Direct is in the books, and the roughly hour-long presentation unloaded information about the 40th anniversary of Super Mario Bros. After the Mario-related spectacle, the Direct switched gears and revealed a few demos and even full games that are already available to download on the eShop starting today.

These titles include DLC for one of the biggest Switch 2 games to date, a cartoony survival game, a beloved RPG, and a couple of roguelikes.

Dinkum demo (Switch)

Dinkum demo (Switch)

Dinkum lets you and a few friends explore the harsh wilderness of an island inspired by the Australian outback and transform it into a populated town. The game features activities such as farming, hunting, mining, fishing, and others, blending elements of a life simulator and a survival game. Dinkum was released on Steam earlier this year, but the Krafton-published title will hit the Switch as a timed console exclusive on November 5. A free demo is available to download in the eShop right now.

Donkey Kong Bananza: DK Island & Emerald Rush DLC and demo (Switch 2)

Donkey Kong Bananza: DK Island & Emerald Rush DLC and demo (Switch 2)

After smashing expectations in July, Donkey Kong Bananza is already receiving paid DLC, and it’s available right now. You can now visit the classic DK Island location from the Donkey Kong Country games, courtesy of your parrot friend Squawks, and new story content has DK and Pauline working for the (formerly?) villainous Void Kong to collect emerald ore. The new run-based game mode, which looks similar to a roguelike, is playable on both DK Island and the layers from the base game. If you missed out on Bananza at launch and want to try it out first, a free demo is also on the eShop.

Lynked: Banner of the Spark (Switch and Switch 2)

Lynked: Banner of the Spark (Switch and Switch 2)

Dreamhaven’s action RPG Lynked: Banner of the Spark combines roguelike elements and life simulator mechanics for what the developers call a “rogue-life” game. Taking place in the year 30XX, the game has you form a community alongside robot buddies called Unibots. Up to three players can participate in hack-and-slash missions, and the Switch 2 version even supports mouse controls and GameShare. Lynked: Banner of the Spark launched on other platforms in May, but it’s for sale on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 now.

Persona 3 Reload demo (Switch 2)

Persona 3 Reload demo (Switch 2)

The remake of the celebrated Atlus RPG Persona 3 is finally coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on October 23, but you can try out the beginning of the game today through a free demo. Experience the stylish game if you missed out on it back in 2006 or the remake’s release on other platforms last year, but the Switch 2 release will be a perfect excuse for fans to replay Persona 3 on the go.

Storm Lancers (Switch)

Storm Lancers (Switch)

Roguelikes on Switch are big in the news today, and Storm Lancers is joining in on the fun with a colorful ’80s aesthetic. Taking place on the alien planet of Cryptica, Storm Lancers features acrobatic action and anime-inspired sword combat. What’s notable about this roguelike is that it centers around couch co-op, letting two players go on their runs together. The stylish game is available today exclusively on Nintendo Switch.
