A multiplayer beta for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 has been announced and begins relatively soon, giving players a first chance to try out the game’s new features, including wall-jumping and more.

Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming Black Ops 7 multiplayer beta.

When does the Black Ops 7 beta start?

The Black Ops 7 multiplayer beta starts on October 2 and runs through October 8, although not everyone will be able to begin playing right away on October 2.

How to get in to the Black Ops 7 beta

The Black Ops 7 multiplayer beta is free and open to everyone everywhere, but people who subscribe to a “select” Game Pass subscription tier can start early on October 2. Additionally, people who preorder Black Ops 7 can start playing the beta on October 2. The beta opens for everyone on October 5.

What’s in the Black Ops 7 beta?

Activision has not announced what maps and modes will be in the Black Ops 7 multiplayer beta. It’s likely the company is saving more announcements for Call of Duty Next in September.

Black Ops 7 takes place in the year 2035 and will feature futuristic weapons and gear. New for Black Ops 7 is a multiplayer mode called Skirmish, which is a 20v20 mode feature multiple objectives. Also in this mode players can use wingsuits and grappling hooks, along with vehicles in what’s described as a large-scale mode. Additionally, Black Ops 7 has a new “Overlock” system that allows players to further augment their loadouts.

Additionally, the Omnimovement system from Black Ops 6 is back in Black Ops 7, and it’s beefed up with a wall-jumping ability.

Black Ops 7 will have more than a dozen maps at launch along with 30 weapons, but exactly how many maps, modes, and weapons will be in the beta is unknown. Perhaps Activision is saving further announcements for Call of Duty Next in September.
