Nearly a decade ago, Sega launched Sega Forever, a mobile gaming initiative that led to several ports of classic games from the Genesis era and beyond for iOS and Android. Sega discontinued Sega Forever in 2023, but a handful of titles remained online. Now, some of those games are about to go away, but you can still download them for free.

Sega hasn’t formally disclosed exactly when the following titles will be delisted, but in-app notifications have confirmed that the following games are being pulled:

  • Crazy Taxi Classic
  • Golden Axe Classics
  • Shining Force Classics
  • Sonic CD Classic
  • Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Ep. II
  • Streets of Rage Classic
  • Streets of Rage 2 Classic
  • Super Monkey Ball: Sakura Ed.
  • Virtua Tennis Challenge

Those games are ad-supported and free to download, and players can keep these titles even after they’re delisted. It’s unclear if the ads will also disappear when the games eventually go offline. But as long as these games are on your phone or mobile device, they’re yours to keep.

According to Lifehacker, some Sega mobile titles, including Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic the Hedgehog 2, aren’t slated to be removed at this time.

In other Sega-related news, the company recently opened an official store in Shanghai, China with exclusive merchandise. Sega has also indefinitely delayed its next Sonic mobile title, Sonic Rumble. Meanwhile, director Michael Bay and Sydney Sweeney are looking to bring Sega’s OutRun to the big screen.
