If there’s one constant in life, it’s that Knight Rider will always be cool. The popular TV series from the ’80s had it all, as it featured David Hasselhoff in the lead role alongside KITT, the car everyone wanted in their garage. And who could forget that killer intro? That was a recipe for success, and if you’d like to return to the era of tight jeans and turbo-boost buttons, we have good news for you: Every episode of Knight Rider will soon be available on 4K Blu-ray. Knight Rider: The Complete Series is available to preorder for $130 at Amazon ahead of its July 22 release.

Knight Rider: The Complete Series on 4K Blu-ray

$130 | Releases July 22

Knight Rider: The Complete Series includes 4K remasters of all 90 episodes from the show’s four-season run (1982-86). It also com es with Knight Rider 2000, the 1991 made-for-TV movie that was originally conceived as a pilot episode for a new Knight Rider show that never came to fruition.

The other big draw here will be the brand-new hour-long documentary Knight Rider: Behind the Wheel, as it contains interviews with cast and crew from the series. It’s a detailed look at the show, as it reveals stories about the iconic stunts that were performed. the cutting-edge tech used to make KITT come alive, and the cultural impact of Knight Rider.

Additionally, there are several more behind-the-scenes interviews, commentary tracks with Hasselhoff, and more included here.If you’re unfamiliar with the series, Knight Rider followed Michael Knight, a field agent for the Foundation for Law and Government (FLAG). Assisted by KITT, a Pontiac Trans Am equipped with a state-of-the-art artificial intelligence and enough gadgets to make Batman jealous, Knight would tour the country and any crime that they encountered.

Knight Rider is already available on standard Blu-ray and DVD, but it’s very cool to see a show from the 1980s get a 4K UHD release, as it’s not all that common (yet).

In addition to Knight Rider 2000, the franchise grew over the years with the film Knight Rider 2010 in 1994, the spin-off series Team Knight Rider in 1997 and a reboot that hit TV screens in 2008. Team Knight Rider doesn’t appear to be available on physical media currently–it is available to stream on Prime–but you can pick up Knight Rider 2010 and the first season of the Knight Rider reboot on DVD. The enduring popularity of Knight Rider saw the birth of several other TV series revolving around cool cars, and the best spiritual successor to the show was easily Viper.

While the action series didn’t have a star car that could talk, it did feature a version of the Dodge Viper RT/10 that was kitted out with incredible technology. Viper ran for 78 episodes across four seasons from 1994-99. The series hasn’t received a Blu-ray release, but you can get the full run on DVD.
