Elden Ring is proving to be a massive hit for From Software and Bandai Namco. It was announced today that Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree has surpassed 10 million units shipped, while Elden Ring Nightreign has now eclipsed 5 million units shipped.

Elden Ring the base game, meanwhile, has sold more than 30 million copies. It was the No. 2 best-selling game in the US for 2022, only eclipsed by Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II.

Elden Ring’s new Tarnished Edition for Nintendo Switch 2 is coming this year, bundling together Elden Ring and the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion. The Elden Ring universe will further expand with a live-action movie from A24 and director Alex Garland.

In other news, Bandai Namco recently announced a deal with Sony where the PlayStation company bought 16 million shares to take a 2.5% ownership stake in the company.

Elden Ring developer From Software’s next game is Duskbloods, an action-RPG for Switch 2 that’s set for release in 2026. The Japanese studio may have a second game set for release in 2026 as well. Given the huge success of Elden Ring, it stands to reason that a sequel will come one day, but nothing has been confirmed as of yet.
