For the better part of two decades, the Gears of War franchise has been exclusive to Xbox consoles and PC. This summer, that’s going to change with Gears of War: Reloaded, the second remaster of the original game from 2006. A new trailer for Reloaded dropped during the Xbox Games Showcase, and it gives PlayStation 5 gamers a chance to see what they’ve been missing.

The game takes place on a colony world named Sera where humans are quickly becoming an endangered species thanks to the emergence of the Locust, a subterranean group that first struck 14 years earlier. Players assume the role of Marcus Fenix and his fellow Delta Squad troopers as they attempt to reverse humanity’s fortunes in the war and reclaim Sera as their home.

According to Microsoft, the new remaster will support 4K-resolution 120fps support, and multiplayer. It will also have cross-play and cross-production on all platforms. Additionally, players who already own the digital version of Gears of War: Ultimate Edition can get Reloaded for free.

The next game in the Gears of War franchise, Gears Of War: E-Day, is a prequel that takes place on Emergence Day, and it will feature the original voice actors who played Marcus and Dom. That game isn’t currently confirmed for anything beyond Xbox Series X|S or PC, and it doesn’t have a release date yet.

Gears of War: Reloaded will hit Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC on August 26. It’s also going to be a day-one release on Game Pass for Ultimate subscribers.
