This is possibly the worst time to have some extra cash, because as summer heats up, so too do the game sales. GOG is holding its annual summer sale right now, which means there are thousands of DRM-free PC games for steeply discounted prices until July 9. Like previous years, there’s a fantastic selection of retro games to save some big bucks on, so you can take a trip back in time with some classics from yesteryear. Several recently released games have also been discounted, so if nostalgia isn’t a driving force in your purchase decisions, you’re catered to as well.
On that topic, you can get the complete Cyberpunk 2077 experience for just $42.40. This includes the critically acclaimed Phantom Liberty expansion, as well as years of tweaks and free updates that have transformed Cyberpunk 2077 into a modern-day classic. Fans of multiversal puzzles will also want to check out The Alters, a very good game about human resources from the developers behind This War of Mine.
If you haven’t played Baldur’s Gate 3, the incredible turn-based RPG with arguably the best choice-based narrative system in the genre to date, is on sale for 20% off.
Moving to the retro side, there’s a lot to grab here as well. Feel like a shot of Tequila? Then for just two bucks, you can get hours of John Woo-inspired fun with the action game Stranglehold, starring Chow Yun-fat’s iconic inspector as he solves crime in a hard-boiled fashion. The Witcher 2 and 3 are also available in their enhanced states and at a very low price, the first four Devil May Cry games have been optimized for modern systems, and the remake of Silent Hill 2 makes one of the best games of all time even better.
