Nintendo Switch Online is a fantastic deal for players who want to play games online with friends or access the service’s ever-growing collection of classic titles (which now includes GameCube). However, there are times when you may need to cancel your subscription or turn off the auto-renewal feature so that you don’t get billed again. And, hey, you can do just that directly on your Nintendo Switch 2 console. Whatever reason you have for ditching the service, here’s how to cancel your Nintendo Switch Online subscription on Switch 2.
How to cancel Nintendo Switch Online on Switch 2
If you’re ready to cancel your Nintendo Switch Online subscription, you’ll first need to navigate to the Nintendo Switch Online icon on the Switch 2 home screen. This is the first icon in the row, so it’s easy to spot.
After you select the user whose Nintendo Switch Online subscription you’d like to cancel, click your avatar at the top left of the screen. Next, click Manage Account Settings in the box containing your subscription information.

On this next page, you’ll see an option that says “Cancel Your Subscription By Turning Off Automatic Renewal.” Click this text to get a new pop-up box confirming that you’d like to turn off automatic renewal. If you’re ready to cancel your Nintendo Switch Online subscription, go ahead and click Turn Off Automatic Renewal in this pop-up box.
And with that, you’ll have canceled your Nintendo Switch Online subscription. Don’t worry, though–your current subscription will remain active until it expires, so have fun playing until then!
