So, you feel like completing all the Good Deeds in Hell Is Us? These are optional activities where you can help all sorts of villagers and survivors, all seeking to stay alive in the inhospitable lands of Hadea. You’ve got your work cut out for you, but our guide has all the details you need.

How to complete all Good Deeds in Hell Is Us

There are over a dozen Good Deeds that you can tackle in your playthrough. That said, they’re somewhat different compared to Mystery-type quests. While Mysteries grant goodies upon completion, Good Deeds require you to talk to Gildas Brom, the Old Vigil NPC in Watcher’s Nest, to claim your rewards.

Moreover, the fates of certain characters are dependent on your campaign progression. For instance, if you finish a particular act/chapter, that character might leave or perish. Lastly, we’ve opted to make separate guides for some of the more complex Good Deeds in the game.

  • Senedra Forest: Forlorn Fate (Trapped Adventurers)
  • Acasa Marshes: Man’s Best Friend (Sam the Dog)
  • Acasa Marshes: Performance of a Lifetime (Violinist)
  • Acasa Marshes: Waylaid (Stranded Peacekeepers)
  • Vyssa Hills: Refugee Camp (Medicines and Getaway Trucks)
  • Talju: Light in the Dark (Survivors and Flares)
  • Marastan: All side quests
  • Auriga Museum: Mementos (Lost Items)

Senedra Forest: Golden Watch

Senedra Forest: Golden Watch

This will likely be the first Hell Is Us Good Deed that you can undertake during the campaign. Simply pick up the Golden Watch in the trench ruins in Senedra Forest. Then, bring it to Ernest Caddell in his farmhouse.

Acasa Marshes: Asunder

Acasa Marshes: Asunder

As you approach the swamplands, you’ll see a father cradling his daughter next to a mass grave. Make your way to Jova Village and look for a house with a glowing item on the door. This is the Worried Wife Letter, which also has a rosary. Bring the item to the distraught NPC to complete this task.

Acasa Marshes: Victor’s Vigil

Acasa Marshes: Victor’s Vigil

This particular Hell Is Us Good Deed is actually tied to the Jova Vitalis’ House Puzzle. After entering the house, pick up the Car Key on the porch. Next, head to the swamplands where you’ll see a partially submerged car. Open the trunk and grab the items inside.

Trade the Necklace to Victor to finish this objective. Likewise, you can have him study the new Forgebook that you just obtained. It’s a Blacksmith Crafting Tome that improves his skills.

Acasa Marshes: Love Thy Neighbor

Acasa Marshes: Love Thy Neighbor

Near the aforementioned submerged car, there’s a large tree where bodies have been hanged. Take the Bloodied Plushie of the teddy bear and bring it to the drunk man in Jova Village. He’s inside the house near the garage/propane tank.

He’ll hand over a Classroom Picture. Trade this to the Despondent Woman inside the house at the yard with the well.

Note: You must give the photo to the Despondent Woman before completing Act 1–i.e. this occurs once you acquire the Keystone of Grief in Lake Cynon/Lymbic Forge. Failure to do so will cause the woman to commit suicide.

Acasa Marshes/Senedra Forest: Land of Milk and Honey

Acasa Marshes/Senedra Forest: Land of Milk and Honey

Certain Hell Is Us Good Deeds will have you going back and forth to different regions. This is one of those examples:

  • Go to the cellar of the house near the garage/propane tank and climb down the ladder.
  • You’ll hear a baby crying in one of the small rooms in the sewers.
  • Approach the mother, Judith, to receive Empty Bottles of Milk.
  • Fast travel back to Senedra Forest and trade this item to Ernest Caddell.
  • Bring the Filled Baby Bottles back to Judith.

Note: You must give the Filled Baby Bottles to Judith before finishing Act 1 in the campaign. Otherwise, the baby will die.

Acasa Marshes: Where the Heart Is

Acasa Marshes: Where the Heart Is

You can tackle this quest during Act 2. After most of the soldiers have left Jova, you’ll find one named Zao Ru at the small outpost just past the Victor the Blacksmith’s forge. You need to return to the tunnel where you initially met Victor. There, you’ll find the Girl’s Photo that Zao Ru wants.

Jeljin: Separated

Jeljin: Separated

Here’s what you need to know about this particular side quest in Jeljin:

  • There’s a brother and sister duo who want to escape Jeljin, but they’re unable to do so because of all the monsters.
  • The brother is on the scaffolding atop the church, and the sister is in the columbarium near the large plaza.
  • The Hollows that you need to defeat are found in (a) the large plaza, (b) the area with the crane, and (c) atop the scaffolding accessible via the crane.

Jeljin/Marastan: Family Feud

Jeljin/Marastan: Family Feud

Near the entrance to Jeljin where the APC is parked, you’ll find a man by the name of Edwyn Tosan. He wants you to find a place for his father’s ashes:

  • Go to Marastan and check the second floor of the house right across from where you meet Talis–i.e. the NPC that’s part of the Blood Queen main quest.
  • Pick up the Urn and return to Edwyn Tosan. He’ll tell you that it should be placed in a columbarium and he’ll give you a key for it.
  • Head to the columbarium near the caves/archaeological dig site. You can interact with one of the niches to open it.

Jeljin/Acasa Marshes: Never Worn

Jeljin/Acasa Marshes: Never Worn

Here’s how to complete the Never Worn Good Deed in Hell Is Us:

  • Go to the archeological dig site in Jeljin–i.e. where you’ll find the Family First Dial Puzzle.
  • Climb down the ladder and explore the depths. One of the research team members, Istian Bailey, is at the end of a tunnel. He’s trapped underneath some rubble and he doesn’t have long. He does tell you about the shoes he bought for his daughter.
  • Check the cavern until you reach the Timeloop. Pick up the glowing item at the corner to receive the Archaeology Camp Key.
  • Exit the dig site and check the tent just outside. Open the locker to receive the Red Shoes and Daughter’s Hope Letter.
  • The letter informs you that Istian and his daughter lived in Jova Village–i.e. the daughter mentions playing with Rebecca.
  • Return to Jova Village in Acasa Marshes. Peer inside the two-storey house near the well. Place the Red Shoes in the interaction point in the bedroom to conclude this part.

Lethe Ministry of Cultural Primacy: Incognito

Lethe Ministry of Cultural Primacy: Incognito

The Incognito side quest involves finding a disguise for the lone ON Peacekeeper in Marston Ral’s building:

  • Go to the lower level of the parking lot and get the Ministry Keycard from the ambulance.
  • Proceed with the initial portions of the Lethe Ministry main quest. Next, check one of the offices where you’ll find a fella named Eynon Baughan.
  • To Eynon’s left, there’s a locked door. Open it using the keycard so you can grab the Woman’s Clothing.
  • Bring this to the ON Peacekeeper, Mireille Dallaire, who’s inside one of the rooms.

Note: Do not leave the Lethe Ministry building until you finish this task. Otherwise, the ON Peacekeeper will perish.

Lethe National Library: A Way Out

Lethe National Library: A Way Out

There’s another Good Deed side quest that you can tackle, and it requires you to go to both locations in Lethe. Here’s the gist:

  • Do the Lethe National Library main quest to gain access to the Book Restoration room in the basement. There, you’ll find a group of refugees led by Agathe Terra.
  • Open the locked gate by inputting this code: 5-3-7-7-3-4.
  • This nets you a quest item and a document. The document has a passcode combination.
  • Head to Lethe Ministry of Cultural Primacy and make your way to the lower section of the office:
    • Pick up the Blank ID Cards in one of the offices.
    • Use the code 2-7-0-3 to open the office safe. You’ll receive the Official Hadean Stamp.
  • Trade both these items to Agathe to conclude this objective.

That’s everything you need to know about how to complete all Good Deeds in Hell Is Us. Remember to finish other optional activities, such as Mysteries, Lymbic Doors/Chests, and Vaults of Forbidden Knowledge.
