Are you perplexed as to how you’d be able to open the Vyssa Hills Serpent Door in Hell Is Us? This fixture in this region will likely make you curious. That’s because you visit the location fairly early in the campaign, but it’s going to take you a while until you can access the area beyond it.
How to open the Vyssa Hills Serpent Door in Hell Is Us
The Serpent Door in Vyssa Hills–i.e. the one next to the Timeloop rift–can only be unlocked during Act 2 of the campaign. Specifically, you need an artifact known as the Twin-Headed Serpent. The item is a reward upon completing the Lethe National Library Puzzle.
Passing through the Serpent Door and getting the Mine Key
Assuming you’ve done the Lethe Library Puzzle, then it’s time to unlock the Hell Is Us Serpent Door in Vyssa Hills. Return to the aforementioned location and just place the artifact in the slot. The stone doorway should move, revealing a path that takes you to the next area.
There’s not a lot that you could do at the moment as there’s an enclosure, so just pick up the nearby glowing Mine Key near the door with the Moon symbol.
Exploring the Vyssa Hills mines
The goal now is to find another quest item in the mines. Here’s the gist:
- Go back to the upper ridges–i.e. where you initially met Tania many hours earlier in the campaign.
- Climb up the ladder and look around you to see a small hut.
- There’s another ladder there, which leads back down to the mines.
The Token of the Moon and the mouse drawings
In the mines, you should see a locked gate to your left. There’s also a somewhat blurry drawing/painting of a white mouse. Use the Mine Key to unlock the gate and proceed along the tunnels. You should keep your eyes peeled for more mouse drawings on the walls. Eventually, you’ll spot another ladder that lets you climb back to the surface.
You’ll find yourself at the enclosure from earlier. There’s a Lymbic Chest nearby, as well as the Token of the Moon.
Note: If you keep exploring the mines, you might find items that are related to the Watcher’s Nest – Eternity side quest.
The Token of the Palm
Exit the enclosure and place the Token of the Moon in the nearby indentation/niche. This lets you proceed to the higher section of the plateau, one that has several strange statues.
There’s a chest in the middle of this area. Take out the enemies and open the chest to receive the Token of the Palm.
The Land Grant and the Plains of Mist
Finally, place the Token of the Palm in the niche at the snake’s other end. This leads to an ancient chamber where you can pick up the Land Grant item. This automatically unlocks the Plains of Mist, which is a completely separate region.
That does it for our guide on how to open the Serpent Door in Hell Is Us. Well, since we’ve already mentioned the next area, we might as well discuss the Indiana Jones-esque Plains of Mist Puzzles.
