Publisher Skybound Games has revealed its next title, an isometric survival-horror game called I Hate This Place. Developed by Broken Mirror Games and based on the comic books of the same name by artist Artyom Topilin and writer Kyle Starks, I Hate This Place combines an ’80s horror vibe with scavenging gameplay mechanics. The first trailer has also gone live, and you can check out some of the gameplay for it below.

One of the interesting things about I Hate This Place is that it offers stealthy options for avoiding the nightmarish creatures hunting you. Every sound you make has to be taken into consideration, and you can also use this to your advantage to lure these creatures into traps that you’ve set up.

Broken Mirror Games added visual cues for the sound that tie into the comic book aesthetics of the game, with green symbolizing that you’re as quiet as a mouse, yellow warning you that you’re making more noise, and red indicating that you’re way too loud.

As the protagonist Elena, you’ll find yourself whisked to a world full of malevolent entities. Fortunately, Elena can gather vital resources and craft essential gear to help her survive, but you’ll need to be cunning if you want to stay a step ahead of the brutish monsters. You can expect the game to land on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch in Q4 2025.
