Are you eager to find a bunch of caps in Hell Is Us? While cosmetic items don’t affect the gameplay or difficulty whatsoever, they still help your character, Remi, show his sense of fashion… even while exploring a war-ravaged region. Our guide lists down all the hats that you can acquire and wear in your playthrough.
Where to find all the caps in Hell Is Us – Cosmetic cap locations guide
Before we mention all the available caps in the game, we have to discuss your character’s outfit. Here’s a quick summary:
- You can find your outfits in the Loadout – Cosmetics tab.
- As you progress through the campaign, you’ll unlock “Styling” options–i.e. Remi wearing a hood, Remi wearing a cap, and Remi with no head covering.
- You can switch between the caps that you’ve picked up. However, only the “Hat On” styling option will make the item fully visible.
Sabinian Cap
Acasa Marshes: You can acquire this Hell Is Us cap as part of the Captain’s Office quest. It involves giving alcohol to a guard and waiting for Captain Vaas to leave so you can steal some stuff from his headquarters.
Veteran Cap
Palomist Cap
Talju: You can find this item on the second-floor section of the barn at the edge of town. The NPC here is also part of the Light in the Dark quest.
Quebec Cap
Jeljin: Getting this cap in Hell Is Us requires a bit of effort:
- Do this while solving the Jeljin Crypt Statues Puzzle.
- Once you reach the construction yard with the crane, you’ll see a projectile-throwing Hollow at the top of the scaffolding.
- Use the Crane Key to create a ledge. Climb the scaffolding and unlock the gate at the nearby crypt.
- Return to the crane and lift the beam so you can cross the gap. Take out the Hollow and pick up this reward.
- Note that the Hollow is also a target for the Separated side quest.
Terror Cap
Lake Cynon/Marastan: This is a reward for the Lost Keys quest. Here’s a quick summary:
- You’ll find the Algae Key in Lake Cynon after draining the reservoir.
- You have to unlock Marastan as a fast travel option. This can be done once you’ve completed the aforementioned Jeljin Crypt Statues objective.
- Once you arrive in Marastan, follow the sloping path until you see Samo’s General Store. Look at the back room for a trunk that you can unlock with the key.
Rage Cap
Lethe Ministry of Cultural Primacy: From the parking lot, enter the facility and check the corner of the stairwell.
Ecstasy Cap
Lethe National Library: This is actually part of the Suspicious Activity quest:
- Go to the storage room on the second floor and input this code: 5-0-5-5.
- Pick up the Car Keys from the locker.
- Head back to the outdoor parking lot and open the trunk of the car that’s parked near the gate.
Grief Cap
Vyssa Hills: This is found in the depths of the mines. While Vyssa Hills is the third region that you visit in the campaign, you won’t be able to access this particular location until you’re tackling the Serpent Door-related tasks.
