Parts of the United States are in the midst of a heatwave right now, and the excessive heat might impact your ability to play your Switch 2. Nintendo’s official support documentation reminds people that if the temperature in the world around you rises, the system’s temperature may rise too. Nintendo said it recommends using the Switch in a temperature range of 5 C (41 F) and 35 C (95 F). The temperature in some US cities today, June 24, is expected to exceed 37 C (100 F).

The US heatwave is impacting New England, the Midwest, and mid-Atlantic. Heat records have already been set at multiple states across the US during this latest heatwave, with Tuesday, June 24, expected to break more. More than 160 million people are under heat alerts in the US today in places like Boston, New York City, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Detroit, Baltimore, and Washington, D.C. Compounding the unpleasantness is the humidity, which raises the “feels like” temperature even higher in some places.
In other Switch 2 news, Nintendo and Amazon have seemingly made up, with the online retail giant finally selling Nintendo games again, including the newest Switch 2 exclusives.
